Using Services

The HACC Program was designed with a focus on supporting service users and involving them in the ongoing development of the service network, through feedback and consultation. Therefore, there are a number of HACC information, support and linking services, including:

Gnarra Aboriginal Project

The Aboriginal Development Workers facilitate access to mainstream HACC services by Aboriginal people in Southern Sydney (Sutherland, Hurstville, Kogarah and Rockdale local government areas) (Tel: 9528 0287).

Sutherland Shire Carers & Consumers Forum Support Project (see also CARERS & CONSUMERS FORUM)

The Carers and Consumers Forum Support Worker provides advocacy for frail older people, people with a disability and carers, either on an individual basis or through the Forum, which meets at least four times a year to discuss community issues (Tel: 9545 6599).

Sutherland Shire Carer Support Project (see also CARER SUPPORT PROJECT)

The Carer Support Project aims to assist people who care for a frail aged person or a person with a disability through the provision of support and information services (Tel: 9542 6292).

Sutherland Shire Council (see also LINKS for Council website)

The Community Worker, Aged Services organises a range of seniors events and provides information about HACC and other aged services (Tel: 9710 0422).

Sutherland Shire HACC Development Project (see also HACC DEVELOPMENT)

The HACC Development Project employs a regional HACC Development Officer to provide information, support and development services to HACC agencies and HACC service users in the Sutherland Shire (Tel: 9542 6244).

St George Migrant Resource Centre

St George Migrant Resource Centre is funded through the HACC Program to assist mainstream HACC services to increase access of clients from non English speaking backgrounds (NESB) (Tel: 9567 0933).
